Editors Note: Every Monday our newest sports betting writer, Dmitry Kras of Bet Smart Podcast, will review Sunday’s slate of games from a NFL sports betting point of view. Dmitry will also dive into some further game analysis, injuries, bright spots and hot seat candidates to help you sport betting fans get the edge heading into each week.

Before we begin, our hearts and prayers go out to James White of the New England Patriots and his family after the tragic death of his father. His mother is in critical condition after a severe car accident.

Now, let’s talk Week 2 from the eyes of a sports gambler.

Week 3 Monday Night Football Freeplay

It’s time to put a teaser bet in for the New Orleans Saints @ Oakland Raiders game. Take the Raiders +13 and the Over 42 in a teaser. The odds are -140 because we did buy a point but this teaser is a lock.

Note: Since we posted this play in the morning the line has moved big time down to Saints -4.  We are thrilled to beat the lines

VIP Prop Bet

Darren Waller Over 51.5 yards (-115). The Saints struggle against the TE position and Waller will see a ton of targets.

Buffalo Bills 31 @ Miami Dolphins 28

What a battle in South Florida. The Bills were a 5.5 or 6 point favorite depending on the time you placed you wager and your book. This was a game we did not play because we found the line a bit fishy heading into that type of humidity and heat. The Bills won the game by a FG and did not cover. But expert betters may have teased it down to a virtual Pick em’.

Miami put out a solid effort. We got to see a little Fitzmagic even in the loss where he threw for 328 yards, 2 TDs, and No interceptions. Free Agents and Rookies are already making an impact in this team with Kyle Van Noy forcing a fumble and a fumble recovery by the Auburn CB, Noah Igninoghene. Miami came away with no significant injuries.

Bright Spot: Mike Gesicki 8 catches, 130 yards, 1 TD
Hot Seat: Jordan Howard: 5 carries, 4 yards, 1 TD

The Bills were a team we gave our clients for two future wagers. Over 9 wins as well as the AFC East division winners. I know it’s only been two weeks, but they sure look good. We knew they would have a great defense, but we were betting on Josh Allen’s impending evolution. Well 417 passing yards, 4 TDS and no interceptions on the road sure looks like we made the right read. The addition of Stefon Diggs has transformed this offense. The Bills have not had a wideout of this caliber since Andre Reed. The Bills had no significant injuries.

Bright Spot: The Future of this franchise
Hot Seat: TBD

San Francisco 49ers 31 @ New York Jets 13

Every bettor was all over the under 41.5 in this game. It lost. We were also on the under, but we knew the Niners were flying cross country and already had injuries to Richard Sherman and Dee Ford, George Kittle, and Deebo Samuel before arriving in Metlife Stadium. We ended up teasing the total up to 47.5 and taking the under. Which deemed to be the right decision.

Ugly, Ugly, Ugly.  The Jets franchise is a disaster. Before the season began we were trying to find a NFL future bet on the firing of Adam Gase. I do not see Gase lasting the entire season. You have to feel bad for Sam Darnold. A mortal lock for a Top 5 draft pick. The Jets didn’t have any significant injuries this week, but Le’Veon Bell and Jamison Crowder are out.

Bright Spot: Quinnen Williams – 2 Sacks 2 TFL, 1 FF

The 49ers won this game easily, but the cost of victory may end up costing the 2020 season. The story of this game were injuries to Jimmy Garoppolo, Nick Bosa, Raheem Mostert, and Solomon Thomas. Bosa and Thomas are out for the season with torn ACLs, while the others seemed to have escaped anything major. It should be interesting to see what the betting lines are for the Niners games moving forward with so many injuries to key players.

Bright Spot: Jordan Reed – 7 catches, 50 yards, 2 TDs
Hot Seat: TBD
