Detroit Lions Team Defense vs. New York Jets
The Lions haven’t looked the sharpest during training camp and the preseason but then again they didn’t play their starters that much to get a good evaluation of what Matt Patricia is installing. However, a bulk of this start recommendation comes from playing Sam Darnold in his first NFL start, on the road and on national television. It will be the first of three games in 10 days for Darnold, which is extremely difficult for a veteran, much less the youngest quarterback ever to start since the AFL merger. Rarely does a rookie look good in his first start, no matter how good he is, that’s why this kid has a big hill to climb and the Lions team defense gets to be the first to get their shots in. – Ernie Estrella
