Denver Broncos Team Defense at Kansas City Chiefs
Of the teams that have played the Chiefs the toughest, Denver is right there. They held the Chiefs to their second-lowest total of 27 points at home. Despite this valiant effort, they couldn’t stop Patrick Mahomes from bringing the team back to suffer defeat. But as I’ve said here often, don’t put much stock into points allowed. Teams are too good in this league to hold under 20 points on a regular basis. It’s everything else, the sacks, turnovers, the defensive stops, and of course special teams. So what did the Broncos rack up against the Chiefs? One single sack. Mind you, that’s the second-best performance by a defense on them. It was also at Mile High stadium and not Arrowhead, where the Chiefs have yet to score below 30 points. Since then, the Broncos went on a slide before stopping the bleeding in Arizona against a team in the first stages of rebuilding. Meanwhile, the Chiefs keep rolling, knocking off big defense after big defense and going toe-to-toe with the Patriots. Even as good as the Broncos are on defense, if the Chiefs are clicking at home as they were in Week 7, they’re in big trouble.
