9. Derek Carr, QB, Las Vegas Raiders

Carr stands as a replaceable quarterback, in both real and fantasy football terms. Add in the occasional unexpected dud (see Week 12 against the Atlanta Falcons this year), and he was worthy of hesitation from fantasy managers all season.

But Carr did not throw an interception until Week 5. He had a five-game streak with multiple passing touchdowns from Week 2-Week 7. From Week 11-17, he had multiple passing touchdowns and/or more than 300 yards in five of the six games he finished.

When it was all said and done, bookended by being QB9 from Week 2-5 and QB10 from Week 13-16, Carr finished the season as a high-end QB2 for fantasy. So he was frequently useful, often underappreciated and bad at inopportune times. Fantasy met reality.
