8. Corey Davis, WR, Tennessee Titans
Davis started the 2020 season with over 65 yards or a touchdown in three straight games. After a few weeks on the COVID-19 list, he did the same in seven of nine games from Week 7-15. Over that latter stretch, was he was WR10 in full PPR and WR7 in standard scoring.
This is where I note a catch-less game for Davis in Week 9 against the Chicago Bears. What happens if you plug in an average performance for him over the rest of Week 7-Week 15 in that game? You get a top-5 fantasy wide receiver over a big chunk of the season.
Davis got shutout on just two targets by stud Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander in Week 16. That surely left a bad taste in the mouth of his fantasy managers who had him in a championship week lineup. But a long-awaited breakthrough season came, with nearly 1,000 yards (984) and almost 100 targets (92) in what amounted to 12 useful games.
