James White / Rex Burkhead, New England Patriots at Detroit Lions

The running back situation in New England is a mess but right now it appears that for the moment, James White is the pass catching back and Burkhead keeps it on the ground. Both backs are utilized in different but equal ways and we can’t help but notice the Lions are giving up a ridiculous average of 179.5 rushing yards per game. Both backs have to be able to be productive against this defense and while the receivers shuffle around for Tom Brady, the running backs and tight end are sure things as far as guessing where the ball is going for Josh McDaniel’s offense. – Ernie Estrella
