Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings
Hype for Garoppolo is well-deserved given what he’s done in the limited chances he’s had to make an impression. However, he’ll be up against one of the best defenses in the league and just lost his versatile starting tailback in Jerick McKinnon. Having Alfred Morris and Matt Breida in the backfield make the Niners more predictable since Morris does not catch the ball well.
Last year the Vikings were by far the toughest defense on third downs and there was not a lot of turnover in the off-season. In fact, they’re more stacked with additions like Sheldon Richardson and George Iloka. Jimmy G will need to carry the team on his shoulders to beat one of the best defenses in the league to just get them in the position to win the game, so a big fantasy performance is not something that will come easily. – Ernie Estrella
