The 5 Best NFL Futures To Bet Before Kickoff
5. Houston Texans to win AFC South
Odds: +200 at MyBookie
With the recent announcement of Andrew Luck’s retirement, the Colts have most likely fallen out of contention in the AFC South division, leaving it fairly wide open for the Houston Texans to swoop in and win their fourth division title in five years. Deshaun Watson should take the next step in his development and we aren’t too concerned about Tennessee or Jacksonville.
4. Jimmy Garoppolo OVER 25.5 passing TD’s
Odds: +100 at FanDuel
We think injury is the only thing that could stop the 49ers quarterback from hitting his overs for passing TD’s this season. At just 25.5, Garoppolo will only need a few big games of 4+ touchdown passes, which is highly likely given they will play a high tempo pace and come up against five of the top seven teams in the 2018 rankings for passing touchdowns allowed in Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Carolina, Cincinnati and Green Bay. Not to mention two games against Arizona, where he should be able to walk the ball up and down the field.
3. Todd Gurley most rushing TD’s
Odds: +850 at MyBookie
Here’s one with a bit more value for you to sink your teeth into. While we definitely think the overall production of Todd Gurley and his carry attempts will take a bit of a hit this season, there’s no doubt that he will still be the go to guy for the Rams in their goal line package. Gurley blitzed the field last season, rushing for three more TD’s than his nearest opponent and is great odds to top the league once again.
2. Cleveland Browns UNDER 9.5 wins
Odds: -140 at FanDuel
There is a lot of hype surrounding the Browns this season after a busy trade period that saw them secure the services of star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr and running back Kareem Hunt. The Browns picks up seven wins last season but find themselves in a tough division alongside the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers. On paper they are clearly on the rise, however, we aren’t as sold on them, especially given their schedule includes tough games against the Rams, Patriots, Seahawks and an away game at Denver.
1. Kyler Murray to win Offensive Rookie of the Year
Odds: +175 at FanDuel
Our absolute best bet of the season and one you should feel comfortable dumping a large portion of capital on is the No.1 draft pick to claim Offensive Rookie of the Year honours. It wasn’t a fantastic draft overall for skill position players, except for the Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray, who will be thrust straight into the starting role at Arizona in what will likely be a sped up and more exciting offense overall. Without too much pressure on team success for the Cardinals, Murray will be able to play freely and showcase his ridiculous skillset.
