Two months of the 2018 NFL schedule is almost done, and fantasy football owners have to keep things rolling for the stretch drive of the fantasy regular season and into (hopefully) the playoffs.
Six teams are on a bye in two of the next three weeks, and with that in mind here are nine must-adds from your fantasy football waiver wire for Week 9.
Peyton Barber, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Barber was a bit of a question mark during the week with an ankle injury, but he was good to go and had 19 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. He has now topped 80 yards on the ground in two of his last three games, with a touchdown in the same two games.
Ronald Jones has been a looming threat to usurp Barber, but he left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury and did not return. So Barber is in line to have the bulk of the work to himself, with two tough matchups coming (Carolina Panthers-Week 9, Washington Redskins-Week 10), followed by favorable matchups against the New York Giants (Week 11) and San Francisco 49ers (Week 12).
A potential quarterback switch for the Buccaneers, after Jameis Winston was benched in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick on Sunday, shouldn’t dramatically impact Barber. He’s worth adding as a low-end RB2/high-end RB3 or flex in 12 and 14-team leagues.
