Week 5 is almost in the books, and that means it’s time to look ahead to Week 6. Bye weeks are going now, with two more teams idle before at least four teams are idle in each of the following five weeks. So fantasy football owners have their annual challenge to navigate.
Finding roster depth, matchup plays and getting in on the start of a breakout curve are the priorities for fantasy owners right now. So here are nine-must adds from your fantasy football waiver wire for Week 6.
Nyheim Hines, RB, Indianapolis Colts
After totaling 18 carries in the first four games, Hines had 15 carries for 45 yards in Week 5 against the New England Patriots along with what has become typical usage in the passing game (seven catches for 45 yards. The rookie out of N.C. State has at least five catches in four of five games this season, with at least seven three times.
Each of Indianapolis’ next three opponents, the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders, entered Week 5 in the bottom half of the league against running backs (ESPN PPR scoring), with the Bills and Raiders in the bottom 12. So a sudden bump in workload bodes well for Hines going forward.
Marlon Mack’s return from a hamstring injury, when it eventually happens, with cloud the Colts’ backfield. But Hines has started to move past having fantasy utility strictly in PPR formats, and even with a significant spike in his ownership he needs to be owner more.
