Gerald Everett, TE, Los Angeles Rams
Everett set career-highs with seven receptions for 136 yards (on 11 targets) against the Seattle Seahawks last Thursday night. Over the last two games, in concert with Jared Goff throwing the ball a total of 117 times, he has 12 catches for 180 yards with a touchdown on 19 combined targets.
The shallowness of the tight end position has put Everett on the radar as a streaming option. It’s worth noting his next three matchups, the San Francisco 49ers (Week 6), Atlanta Falcons (Week 7) and Cincinnati Bengals (Week 8) all entered Week 5 in the top-10 of the league against tight ends, but the 49ers and Bengals also entered the week in the bottom-six in targets per game allowed to the position.
Everett’s target share over the last two game (16.2 percent) isn’t so high as to be unsustainable. But better balance from the Rams’ offense should be coming, so the pure volume will naturally decline.
Week 5 is as good as it will get for Everett. But he’s still worth a look as a waiver wire add in leagues with larger rosters (or 12 or more teams), if only as a possible bye week fill-in.
