Phillip Dorsett, WR, New England Patriots

After being acquired right up against Week 1 last year, Dorsett never found a role wit the Patriots as he had just 12 catches in 15 games.

But with Julian Edelman suspended and an array of preseason cuts thinning out the wide receiver ranks, Dorsett was in line for a possible opportunity in Week 1. It indeed came, as Pro Football Focus said he played 57 of 75 snaps, and the former first-round pick caught all seven of his targets for 66 yards and a touchdown against the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Dorsett’s long-term staying power is hard to predict, with the Jacksonville Jaguars on the slate for Week 2 and Edelman suspended for the first four games. But any starting wide receiver for the Patriots is worth a fantasy football waiver wire look, as the Tom Brady tide raises all ships.
