The NFL season is in full swing and the time is now to get to work your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing. Every year there are a handful of players that come out of nowhere to have big opening weeks and turn into fantasy gold throughout the season.
With that in mind we bring to you nine players that fantasy owners should immediately try to get on their teams in Week 2.
T.J. Yeldon, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Leonard Fournette left Sunday’s game against the New York Giants with a hamstring injury, and a possible carry split between Yeldon and Corey Grant finished in favor of Yeldon 14-1 for the game. Yeldon had 51 yards on his 14 carries, while adding three catches for 18 yards and a touchdown.
Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone said he was optimistic about Fournette after the game Sunday. But it’s notable he did not return, and hamstring issues can linger for awhile.
Fournette’s status is worth monitoring, but he looks headed for a questionable tag in Week 2. So his owners should be ready to add Yeldon as a fallback, and those that don’t own Fournette should also have the Alabama product on their fantasy football waiver wire radar.
