Sterling Shepard, WR, New York Giants

Shepard had six catches (on seven targets) for 113 yards against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. He has been targeted 16 times over the last two games, as Odell Beckham continues to be out, and the third-year man out of Oklahoma has at least six targets in five straight games.

He does not have a fantastic matchup coming in Week 17 though, as the Dallas Cowboys came into Week 16 allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers (ESPN PPR scoring). But they’ve allowed a touchdown to the position in five of their last six games now, and two Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receivers (Mike Evans and Adam Humphries) reached double-digit targets on Sunday.

Beckham seems unlikely to play in Week 17, which sets up Shepard to be the Giants’ No. 1 wide receiver for another week. He’s mostly a volume-based PPR play as a low-end WR2/high-end WR3 against Dallas, but there’s some appeal here in standard scoring leagues for those that are so inclined.
