Elijah McGuire, RB, New York Jets
McGuire had 85 total yards (35 rushing) and two total touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving) against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, and over the last two games he has scored three times with 31 combined carries and six receptions for 73 yards. In Week 17, he’ll be the Jets’ lead back again.
Week 17 brings a reasonably challenging matchup, as the New England Patriots entered Week 16 in the middle of the pack against running backs (ESPN PPR scoring). But they were in the bottom-10 of the league in receptions allowed to the position, with five more catches allowed to Buffalo Bills’ running backs on Sunday.
The Jets’ offense is going pretty well right now, and McGuire is one of the primary beneficiaries. He’s a volume-driven RB2 in 12-team leagues for Week 17, with enough availability to be worth checking on.
