Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills

Allen only had 16 rushing yards on Sunday against the Detroit Lions, but he did score on the ground along with 204 passing yards and another touchdown. Perhaps most importantly, he did not turn the ball over after doing so five times over the previous two games.

In Week 16 Allen gets the New England Patriots, who entered Week 15 in the bottom-10 of the league against quarterbacks (ESPN scoring) and they’ve now allowed multiple passing touchdowns in nine of 14 games this season. Against them in Week 8, Derek Anderson started for the Bills and threw for 290 yards.

Allen may be forced to air it more than he has been against New England, which invites a bushel-load of mistakes. But with that potential for garbage time in a good matchup, and rushing production to raise his floor, Allen shouldn’t be dismissed as a low-end QB1 in a critical week for fantasy owners.
