Lamar Jackson/Joe Flacco, QB, Baltimore Ravens
Jackson had the first multiple passing touchdown game of his career against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, as he went 13-for-24 for 147 yards along with 71 rushing yards. But he also left the game late with an apparent ankle injury, just a week after needing to be checked for a concussion. That said, Jackson told reporters after Sunday’s game he’s fine.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers held Drew Brees in check on Sunday (201 yards, one touchdown and one interception), but he added a rushing touchdown to bolster his fantasy day. Tampa Bay entered Week 14 allowing the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, so whoever starts under center for the Ravens in Week 15 gets a nice matchup.
Joe Flacco (right hip) seemed close to being active as Jackson’s backup on Sunday, so it seems all but a lock he’ll be in uniform next week. If Jackson somehow can’t go, Flacco would be in line to get the start against the Buccaneers over Robert Griffin III.
Jackson has more upside due to his running ability, but Flacco would also be a good streaming option for Week 15 if he steps in. Beyond that, Week 16 (Los Angeles Chargers) and Week 17 (Cleveland Browns) can be seen as solid matchups for whoever the Ravens quarterback is. Jackson should be that quarterback as long as his ankle issue isn’t serious, but he’s getting banged up on a weekly basis and Flacco shouldn’t be totally forgotten.
