Theo Riddick/LeGarrette Blount, RB, Detroit Lions
Riddick had seven catches on seven targets for 48 yards against the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving, and he now has 25 grabs on 29 targets over the last four games since he returned from a knee injury. With Kerryon Johnson (knee) out on a short week, Riddick also mixed in two carries for 12 yards against the Bears.
Not to be left out, Blount had 19 carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns (along with a 15-yard reception) against the Bears. His role obviously expanded with Johnson out, so it could be a one-week thing. But while Johnson has avoided a more serious knee injury, it’s not out of the question he’ll miss another game in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams.
Riddick’s value as a RB3/flex in PPR leagues is immune to Johnson’s status. Blount’s value is obviously far more dependent on if Johnson plays, but he has scored in three of four games this season where he’s had double-digit carries. If you’re a Johnson owner (or even if you’re not), adding and stashing Blount rather than someone you’ll never think about using at this point in the season is a solid move.
