Gus Edwards, RB, Baltimore Ravens

Edwards came out nowhere with a big game in Week 11, and with Alex Collins (foot) inactive on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders the undrafted rookie out of Rutgers finished with 118 yards on 23 carries. He’s pretty clearly Baltimore’s lead running back now, regardless of Collins’ health, heading into a nice piece of the schedule.

The Atlanta Falcons entered Week 12 allowing the most fantasy points to running backs (ESPN PPR scoring), then they allowed 164 total yards to Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram on Thanksgiving night. After that for Edwards comes the Kansas City Chiefs (second-most fantasy points allowed to running backs going into Week 12) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (sixth-most fantasy points allowed to running backs going into Week 12). Extending out further, the Los Angeles Chargers (Week 16) entered Week 12 in the bottom half of the league against running backs.

Edwards is shaping up as a weekly RB2 in standard leagues down the stretch, and even with last week’s burst in ownership there’s still plenty of room to add him.
