Tre’Quan Smith, WR, New Orleans Saints

Smith had 10 catches for 157 yards and a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, on a season-high 13 targets. After being pigeonholed as basically a deep threat, the rookie out of UCF looked like a much more complete receiver.

Brandon Marshall may make his Saints’ debut Thanksgiving night in Week 12, but there should be plenty of opportunity to go around against an Atlanta Falcons’ defense that entered Week 11 allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers (ESPN PPR scoring).

A tougher matchup will come for Smith in Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys, who entered Week 11 allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers (ESPN PPR scoring). But things get easier again from Week 14-16, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers all went into Week 11 in the bottom half of the league against wide receivers.

The Saints’ offense is rolling as good as any in the league right now, and Smith appears set for a prominent role and a strong finish. He’s still got some boom-or-bust potential, but he’s looking to be in the mix as a weekly WR3 in 12 and 14-team standard leagues right through the fantasy playoffs.
