Vance McDonald, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers
If I told you the 13th-highest scoring tight end in ESPN leagues entering Week 11 (PPR scoring) was available in no less than around 40 percent of leagues, he’d be a must-add, right? That’s McDonald, and he now has a touchdown in back-to-back games amid three catches for 27 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
Three of Pittsburgh’s next four opponents, the Denver Broncos (Week 12), Oakland Raiders (Week 14) and New England Patriots (Week 15) entered Week 11 in the bottom half of the league against tight ends (ESPN PPR scoring). The Raiders and Patriots entered the week in the bottom-10 against the position.
McDonald isn’t lighting up the stat sheet with catches and yards, which explains his relatively low ownership. But he has six targets in two of his last three games, and right into the fantasy playoffs he’s looking like a viable starting tight end.
