The 2017 NFL season is just one week old and while many might think it’s premature to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire, they are wrong. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire Wide Receivers for Week 2.
Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles Rams
Yahoo! Ownership: 25%
A matchup against an overmatched and depleted Indianapolis Colts secondary should be noted, but Kupp had four catches for 76 yards and his first NFL touchdown on Sunday as he showed some instant rapport with Jared Goff.
Favorable-looking matchups are on the slate for Kupp in Week 2 (Washington Redskins), Week 3 (San Francisco 49ers) and Week 4 (Dallas Cowboys), even if the latter of those three teams looked pretty good defensively in Week 1. If nothing else, target volume will not be an issue for the Eastern Washington product over the next few weeks.
The FCS all-time leader in receptions is looking like an immediate producer as a rookie. He’s worth a roster spot in all PPR leagues, at minimum. — Brad Berreman
Consider Adding In: 10-team, 12-team & 14-team formats; especially in PPR leagues.
