NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting former Green Bay Packers tight end Jared Cook is “going to sign” with the Oakland Raiders. After one season in Green Bay, Cook is expected to move on to the Raiders on an undisclosed deal. Oakland had a glaring need at tight end as Clive Walford and Mychal Rivera were never considered legitimate threats in the passing game. Cook’s addition will give Derek Carr a reliable pass-catching tight end who can stretch the field and create mismatches with opposing defenders. Despite the change of scenery, Cook is still a TE2 entering 2017.
