The NFL season is 13 weeks old and with bye weeks still going you need to be on top of making your fantasy football waiver wire claims for the upcoming week. Every year there are a handful of players that come out of nowhere to have big opening weeks and turn into fantasy gold throughout the season. With that in mind we bring to you nine players that fantasy owners should immediately try to get on their teams in Week 14.
Marquise Goodwin, WR, San Francisco 49ers
ESPN Ownership: 15.3%
Yahoo! Ownership: 31%
Goodwin had eight receptions (on eight targets) for 99 yards against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. He has 68 or more yards in four straight games now, with at least five targets in six of his last eight games.
In line with Jimmy Garoppolo’s favorable matchups against the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans over the next two weeks, Goodwin gets matchups against the sixth and seventh-most generous teams to wide receivers entering Week 13 (ESPN PPR scoring).
Goodwin has a bit of boom or bust to him. But he clearly became a top target for Garoppolo immediately, and he’s been useful more often than not going back to Week 5 or so. As a WR3/WR4 in 12-team leagues, the former Olympic-level athlete is a good waiver wire add this week.
