The NFL season is 9 weeks old and with bye weeks still going you need to be on top of making your fantasy football waiver wire claims for the upcoming week. Every year there are a handful of players that come out of nowhere to have big opening weeks and turn into fantasy gold throughout the season. With that in mind we bring to you nine players that fantasy owners should immediately try to get on their teams in Week 10.
Jared Goff, QB, Los Angeles Rams
ESPN Ownership: 48.7%
Yahoo! Ownership: 73%
Goff had a big outing Sunday against a reeling New York Giants defense, with 311 yards and four touchdowns on just 14 completions. He has taken advantage of good matchups, and the 2016 No. 1 overall pick has now topped 20 fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring) in four of his last five games.
Another easy matchup is coming for Week 10. The Houston Texans have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks (ESPN scoring), with over 300 passing yards and multiple passing touchdowns allowed in three of their last four games.
Things will get a little tougher in Week 11 (Minnesota Vikings) and Week 12 (New Orleans Saints). But then Goff gets favorable matchups against the Arizona Cardinals (Week 13) and Philadelphia Eagles (Week 14), at a critical time for fantasy owners.
Something has clicked for Goff in his second season. He’s still pretty widely available, and he’s looking like a solid QB1 in 12-team leagues from here on out.
