The 2017 NFL season is just one week old and while many might think it’s premature to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire, they are wrong. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.

Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire Team Defenses for Week 2.

Baltimore Ravens D/ST

Yahoo! Ownership: 46%

Hopefully you listened to us coming into the season and drafted the Ravens for Week 1. Coming off a top-3 finish for fantasy defenses racking up 5 sacks, 4 INT’s and 1 fumble recovery, things are somehow about to get better for the Ravens.

Heading home after dominating the Bengals in Cincinnati, the Ravens will now host the Browns and rookie DeShone Kizer who is still trying to figure things out at the NFL level. The Browns have been a top opponent that fantasy defenses have thrived on for quite some time. After that, the Ravens face a Jaguars team that just lost Allen Robinson and has been incredibly turnover prone with Blake Bortles at the helm. If you want to look even further down the road, a Week 4 matchup against the Steelers isn’t as promising, however Big Ben has struggled on the road in the past. This is a team that just ate up a Bengals offense that wasn’t an ideal matchup on paper coming into the season either.

Baltimore is a must add defense on this weeks waiver wire. They get the Browns this week and with a matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on deck, they very likely could come out of Week 3 as the No. 1 scoring defense in fantasy to start the season.

Consider Adding In: 10-team, 12-team & 14-team formats.
