The 2017 NFL season is 15 weeks old and while many might think it’s premature to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire, they are wrong. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Eric Ebron, TE, Detroit Lions
ESPN Ownership: 30.9%
Yahoo! Ownership: 42%
Over the last two games, Ebron has 15 receptions and a touchdown on 18 targets. Going back further, he has at least four catches or a touchdown in six straight games. In this year’s crop of tight ends, that’s practically starter material.
The Cincinnati Bengals are playing out the string now, and they’ve allowed a touchdown to a tight end in back-to-back games. Ebron is next in line, with a 29.5 percent target share from Matthew Stafford over those same two weeks.
Ebron has been an overall disappointment again this year. But he’s stepped up his production at the right time for fantasy owners, and he’s worth plug-and-play consideration for Week 16.
