The 2017 NFL season is 13 weeks old and while many might think it’s premature to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire, they are wrong. Every year a no name blows up in Week 1 and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Ricky Seals-Jones, TE, Arizona Cardinals
Yahoo! Ownership: 28%
Seals-Jones has been a hot topic of discussion in the fantasy world as of late as he exploded onto the scene out of nowhere with 3 touchdowns between Weeks 11 and 12. Seals-Jones predictably came back down to earth last week in a tougher matchup to only record 2 catches for 44 yards. There was still some silver lining in this performance however as he still managed 5 targets in the game and has averaged that over the last three weeks now.
The new found consistent involvement puts Seals-Jones firmly in the matchup based starter conversation, which actually comes in extremely handy for him as he gets both the Redskins and Giants coming up in Weeks 15 and 16 who have been amongst the most generous to tight ends in fantasy this season.
It’s a roll of the dice some may not be willing to take during such crucial games, but we have seen the high upside Seals-Jones can offer and he could be a deciding factor during the playoffs.
