The 2016 NFL season is seven weeks old and the time is now to start picking up people from their fantasy football waiver wire in order to make a playoff push. Every year a no name blows up in over the first few weeks of the season and ends up being a top-20 fantasy football player over the remainder of the season. So, instead of letting your competition beat you to the punch, use your fantasy football waiver wire to find the next big thing.
Let’s get things started by taking a look at some fantasy football waiver wire Wide Receivers for Week 8.
Ty Montgomery, WR/RB, Green Bay Packers
Owned in 62% of Yahoo Leagues
Over the last two games, as a wide receiver/running back utility player, Montgomery has 20 receptions (25 targets) for 164 yards along with 12 carries for 66 yards (nine carries or 60 yards in Week 7).

Montgomery seems sure to maintain a primary role in Green Bay’s offense, with a litany of running back injuries (Eddie Lacy, James Starks, Don Jackson) forcing that particular hand. On the heels of the kind of carries he had last Thursday night, Montgomery may add running back eligibility in both ESPN and Yahoo! Leagues fairly soon.
As could be expected, Montgomery’s fantasy ownership rate has risen significantly recently. But there’s still an opportunity to add him this week, and PPR league owners should already have him on their radar. — Brad Berreman
Consider Adding In: 10-team, 12-team & 14-team formats. Especially PPR leagues.
