Swanson posted a hit in his third straight game and has his average up to .223 for the first time since the opening week of the season. He is a possible addition in fantasy leagues if you have a struggling SS. Swanson should continue to improve at the plate as the season progresses.

Camargo has gotten a hit in four straight games, including two hits in each of the last three contests. He is earning extra playing time at the expense of Rio Ruiz right now and can be used in DFS as a cheap play when he is in the starting lineup.

Patrick Beverley is a name to keep an eye on in trade discussions as the starting point guard for the Rockets is open to a trade. The team is actively shopping him and could easily swap a first round pick for him.

Beverley could do well with a move to another team in terms of fantasy but we will have to wait-and-see. It would be a boost for Lou Williams and Eric Gordon if Beverley moved on.

Kristaps Porzingis was involved in trade discussions with the Suns in exchange for Devin Booker and the No. 4 overall pick in this upcoming draft. Phil Jackson wants to also include Joakim Noah in a possible trade as well as additional picks. At this time, the Celtics, Suns, Spurs and 76ers are all inquiring about KP and more should surface in the next 24 hours.

The tough part is nobody wants to take on Noah’s large contract or his poor play plus injury history. If KP was moved to Phoenix, he would remain a solid fantasy option as well as Devin Booker.

With the Cardinals struggles this year we might be seeing an influx of young talent coming and going. If Lucas gets called up he probably wont be more than a filer.

Jack Flaherty pitched 5 2/3 innings allowing three runs on five hits while walking three and striking out three. He allowed two home runs.

Flaherty has been pitching really well in Triple-A and is a very promising pitcher. We probably wont be seeing Flaherty this year but when he gets his call, he’s got the stuff to be a middle of the rotation starter.

John Gant was named PCL Pitcher of the week last week after pitching eight scoreless innings Friday.

After spending a week in the Cardinals bullpen Gant was went back down and pitched very well in Triple-A Memphis. The Cardinals are having a ton of troubles with hitting and pitching this year, but have plenty of players in the farm system that could provide a spark. At some point the Cardinals are going to have to stop putting in mediocre players and start giving their prospects a chance.

Dustin Pedroia (ribs) remains out of the Red Sox starting lineup Tuesday.
Pedroia took a pitch to the ribs on Sunday night and was in serious pain, but X-rays turned up negative.

This will be the second game that Pedroia misses but is still considered day to day and it doesn’t look like a DL stint will be necessary.  Josh Rutledge will start at second base in place of Pedroia.
