The Giants could have gone two ways, linebacker or offensive tackle and they decided to go with the latter, getting Andrew Thomas out of Georgia. Some will be second guessing the Giants, because, well that’s what everyone does the day after. They could have had Isaiah Simmons, who some believe is a can’t miss prospect. That said, Thomas was amongst an elite class of offensive tackles, and arguably the best pure left tackle in the draft.
GM Dave Gettlemen invested their future in Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley, now he’s looking to keep both of them protected with Thomas, who blocked for Nick Chubb and D’Andre Swift. It’s hard to argue against the pick as offensive line has been a problematic group for the G-Men for a long time.
