Alfred Morris, San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings

I realized you were probably quick on the waiver wire draw to get Morris after Jerick McKinnon tore his ACL, and in time, that might have been a wise pickup. But Week 1 is not going to be pretty for the Niners’ run game.

The Vikings raided on running backs in 2017, holding them to 83.6 rushing yards per game. Believe it or not, the Vikings could improve with the offseason they’ve had. With McKinnon, defenses couldn’t tell how he’d be used, though Morris being one-dimensional and Matt Breida similarly so in the pass game, knowing how to game plan San Fran got a little bit easier. – Ernie Estrella
