Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers at Oakland Raiders
Big Ben may be a no-brainer for some but every week we get questions in the live chat on if he stacks up as a weekly start. The truth is, he hasn’t been as automatic as he’s been in the past. He’s still on pace to break 30 touchdowns but there is a slight concern since if you combine the last three games against quality defenses, Roethlisberger has thrown more interceptions (6) than touchdowns (5) He’s only thrown for more than two touchdowns four times this year, and three of those times were from Weeks 2-5. He’s thrown for over 300 yards (400 once) in three of the last four games though, and with James Conner missing Week 14, Roethlisberger is going to have a bigger role in manufacturing production out of the backfield of young starters in Conner’s absence. Thankfully, the Raiders are a positive matchup for Big Ben as they’ve allowed quarterbacks to throw at least three touchdowns on them in five of their last seven games.
