Williams has proven he is a complete running back and offensive coordinator Greg Olson said Wednesday it’s time the Buccaneers commit to him as an every down player, the St. Petersburg Times reports.
Recommendation: Olson said Williams has improved his protection, pass-catching and route running abilities enough to be reliable on third down. “We’re going to get him more involved,” Olson said of Williams. “We went into the season kind of with the mentality of let’s work Cadillac in. Maybe we can rotate him with the other backs. But as good as he’s looked here early on in the season, I think it’s time we become more committed to Williams as a full-time guy.” This is huge news for Williams owners as this vaults him into at least a flex-start most weeks in all formats. If you haven’t already, it might be time to drop Earnest Graham off your fantasy squad as he has had trouble staying healthy and has not gotten much action so far this season and could be in line for even less. Derrick Ward could still be a factor this season, especially if Williams were to get hurt again, but it sounds like he may be regulated to more of a change of pace role, which means he should be on your bench for now.
He’s worth taking a chance on if you have a spot for him. TB needs stability and it looks like Cadillac is a good starting point
