Maulers 2010 - 08 October 2010 09:31 PM
Hey all. First time on this site and I need an assessment of my team if you please. Non-PPR 10 team league, 4 make the playoffs and at 5th (2-2) though early I am on the outside looking in. My roster is as follows:
STARTERS
Rivers
MJD
Foster
Calvin
Ocho
Charles
Shiancoe
Atlanta
Matt Bryant
BENCH
Tolbert
Floyd
Braylon
Brandon Lloyd
Orton
Pettigrew
I feel I have depth at RB and could trade one for an upgrade to TE or sell Orton high for an upgrade to WR/TE. I have been playing the matchups at D and Kicker though Bryant looks like a more permanent fit. Any thoughts?
Maulers… welcome to the Bruno Boys Forum! Glad to have you around. Just a suggestion… you will probably get more people to respond to this by posting it in the Fantasy Advice section. The New Member Intro section is usually monitored by staff members sporadically and new people who have just signed up.
Your team looks solid and I feel that the time is now to trade Orton, especially when Rivers is on your roster and it’s tough to even think about benching him. You should be able to land yourself a solid [;ayer in return and to be honest i would target a sure bet wide receiver to compliment Megatron. Now, I like Ocho, Floyd and Lloyd (heck even Edwards to some degree), however, if you can deal Orton and one of your wide outs for a guy like Miles Austin (or comparable) to a team who is hurting at quarterback that would be ideal.
If you can’t get a bite on a stud wide out go ahead and target the tight end, though keep in mind there are only about 8-9 tight ends better than Shiancoe and I am sure the owners who have a solid tight end might be reluctant to deal them. Though, if you are offering let’s say Shiancoe and Orton for a top tier tight end it would make sense if the owner needed a quarterback.
Hope this helps and with Shiancoe a bit banged up and playing on Monday Night it is tough to project his value this week, therefore I suggest you plug Pettigrew into your lineup. Now, trust your gut on this one, but if I owned your team that is what I would do… it’s always best to play it safe when you have a banged up player and a serviceable backup.
Keep on coming back and best of luck in Week 5
