Cavigs,
I don’t know if you remember me, but a couple of years ago I asked you for advice concerning a FF Superbowl where I had actually squared off against my wife. Needless to say, she beat me and the rule was that I would take a year off from FF, but now I’m back.
Question I have is, I’m in a 2 QB league. My first is Aaron Rodgers, but my second one now is Derek Anderson. I have Ben R on the bench and can not wait until Week 6, however I’m losing major points at my #2 QB position. Shawn Hill, Josh Freeman, and Charlie Batch/Dennis Dixon are all on the WW. Should I take a flyer on one of these guys or just ride out D. Anderson until Ben R comes back in Week 6?
Thanks again. Love the website!
Danny… Welcome back! I sure do remember both you and your wife. I remember going back and forth answering questions from the two of you on the website and by email. Pretty harsh rule you had to deal with during the 2009 season… I know I couldn’t go a year without playing fantasy football! My question is… did your wife not play as well, or did she play and make you suffer?
You are in a tough QB situation but looking at your options it is best to not commit to one quarterback and play matchups. Hopefully these guys sit on your waiver wire and you can pick the best guy weekly until Big Ben returns. Realistically, I like Josh Freeman most weeks, however, the matchup against Pittsburgh is one to avoid. based on your options, I would stick with Derek Anderson against the Oakland Raiders and hope he can bounce back after a lackluster Week 2 showing. The other option would be Shaun Hill against Detroit. It could be another scenario in which we see Hill chucking the football often towards the end of the game, especially if Detroit is trying to catch up with Minny… who by the way, I feel will come out fired up in week 3!
Welcome back and don’t be a stranger around town!
