Bruno Boys Nation,

I just wanted to let you know that we UPDATED our Top 150 Rankings as of 8/30/2010. The changes in rankings will reflect injuries, position battles and happenings around the NFL.  Scoring is based on Standard Leagues and described at the top of the article.

Also, a quick question…

Do you use a Top 150 style ranking when you are drafting or do you prefer to go off of a position by position cheat sheet?  Or both?  We would love to get as much feedback as possible from the Bruno Boys Nation!

Marc, I am a position guy myself…I will glance over a top 150…but beyond the top 15 picks or so it gets to convoluted for my tastes (but I’m a little slow so take it for what its worth)

Tetra… Thanks for the information and stop calling yourself slow.. that’s just an excuse so that when you are below me in the kicker rankings you can blame it on being slow!

In all honesty, I figured opinions would vary on the usage of Top 150 rankings compared to positional rankings and I love an open discussion on a topic like this.  Myself, I use both. Top 150 helps me determine worth, while positional rankings allow me to get an understanding of the top 2-3 remaining at the position. From there, I use tier rankings to see where the least depth is among the positions I still need to add players at.  Maybe confusing, but actually simple once you get going…

I definitely prefer both.  For reasons very similar to what you just said.  I like the top 150 to use on value picks (to perhaps use for future trades), but like the position breakdown when working to strengthen a particular position.  By the way, this site is amazing!  So glad I found it last year (but upset it was half-way through the season)!  Let’s see how I do with your help for an entire one!

I prefer positional rankings as well. I use a spreadsheet and keep up with every player drafted so I know (visually) which positions are running thin on talent as the draft goes on.

Ditto.  I also prefer putting positional rankings in Tiers and color coding a draft board while drafting (ala FF Calculator) to not only see what talent is running thin, but to also get a sense of what the other owners and I will pick next.  A bit anal, but it’s fun strategizing!

Oh you cheap son of a bitch. Are you crazy? Those guys are retards!
I got a good deal on those boys. The scouts said they showed a lot of promise.
They brought their f***in’ TOYS with ‘em!
Well, I’d rather have em playin with their toys than playin with themselves.
They’re too dumb to play with themselves. Boy, every piece of garbage that comes into the market you gotta buy it!
