Forsett, Barber, Jacobs, Harrison and Maroney…in that order

Forsett will see alot of balls and they have a weaker schedule (the Seahawks)

Barber and Jacobs are not the coaches favorites on their teams and will lose touches.

Maroney is all but lost in the mess that is the patriots backfield.

Harrison, despite being the main man in cleveland…he is the main man in CLEVELAND. too too risky for me

I’ve gotta go Forsett, Barber, Harrison, Jacobs, Maroney

Forsett should have no problem overtaking Julius Jones, and Leon Washington is a complimentary back who won’t take too many touches from Forsett. He’s by far the most skilled runner of the three, and that will have him getting the majority of carries, and he showed how good he can be last season.

Barber’s further down on draft boards than he’s been in a few years, so you can really get some value out of him this year. He had a down year last year and still had 932 yards and 7 tds, he’ll give you alotta bang for the buck

Harrison is the guy in Cleveland, and yes while it is Cleveland, that’s still more job security than most running backs. He’s been having trouble with fumbles in the preseason, and there is a lot of risk involved, but the way he came on last season to total 561 yards and 5 TDs in the last three weeks can’t be ignored.

Jacobs will be pushed by Bradshaw this season and has knee problems, but he’s still one of the better goal line options in the game, so he’ll get his fair share of scores as long as he can stay on the field.

Maroney’s a guy I’d just stay away from. He’s had every opportunity to become the guy in New England and he just can’t do it. The Pats aren’t even playing him in the preseason, and have been known to go with different looks in the backfield. There’s a small chance he could finally realize his potential and breakout, but it’s not a risk I’d be willing to take.

Even though I agree with the comments above, I have to say the player with the most value for his ADP is Jerome Harrison. He may be the most undervalued player on your list, and Brandon Jacobs is the most over-valued just b/c of his name brand.

Forsett will be the guy I draft first, then I would wait for Barber and Jacobs to be drafted, then I would pick Harrison.

Maroney shouldn’t even be in this conversation. He’s pretty much is done in NE. Plenty of opportunities, but just let it slip him by. I would draft Fred Taylor and S. Morris before Maroney.

Hate to disagree with my colleagues but MTrain nailed it on the head. Forsett is number one and Harrison is number two. Yes he plays for Cleveland, but they do have a good running attack that Harrison proved he can excel in a year ago. Jake Delhomme may be bad, but he managed to allow DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart to have good fantasy seasons. Add that Montario Hardesty hasn’t really seen the field and it’s tough to say Harrison isn’t a good option. Take him 2nd. From there, it is Jacobs & Barber (in no order) with Maroney far behind.

I like Forsett and Harrison better than the other three, if only because they are likely to come cheaper on draft day and have some upside.

I can easily see Barber, Jacobs and Maroney serving as predominantlly goal line backs this season.  All three teams have other, perhaps better, options at their disposal.

If I ranked them, I’d go:
Forsett
Barber
Harrison
Jacobs
Maroney

Hopefully, if this is what I’m choosing from, it is for a back up. In that case, the bye weeks are going to dictate my choice.  If I’m facing this decision looking for a RB2, my preference is…

Barber
Jacobs
Forsett
Harrison
Maroney

Barber and Jacobs play for good teams with quality O-Lines and are great candidates to see the end zone on a weekly basis. I wouldn’t cry if I ended up with Forsett; however, I prefer Cadillac Williams to Harrison and Maroney.

Best of luck this season!
