MJD has missed 3 straight practices.  I can’t find anything on him besides that.  Does anyone have and information as to what may be wrong or any insight?  Thanks.

Probably just precautionary or maybe personal…but I have my eye on it.

When he did his fantasy draft, reports was that he had a bad limp. He denied the reports, but why wouldnt he! I really dont care as he should be okay starting the season.

I imagine if anything was of serious concern we would have heard about it by now. The media is ravenous about injury reports, and if a major running back was hurt we’d know about it or at least have some coverage about what it might be somewhere. Rotoworld says he is almost surely just being rested this week as a precaution. You shouldn’t start to get concerned if we get nothing positive by their third preseason game.

I agree with Lane. If it was anything serious everyone would know by now. Jacksonville wanted to limit his caries in the preseason anyway after 312 carries last season.

I just read that MJD said his practice absence was not injury-related.  Probably just a precaution.

Just an update…new reports are surfacing from Jones-Drews’ agent Adisa Bakari that the Pro-Bowl running back did not have arthroscopic surgery. Bakari told The Associated Press that the Jags are resting MJD for precautionary reasons. He said that Jacksonville needs him during the regular season and that playing him now could only hurt the team. In fact, Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio plans to sit most of his starters in the preseason finale on Thursday, September 2. With the spate of recent injuries in preseason games - some season-ending, Del Rio’s decision seems reasonable and might turn out to be the smartest one he makes all season.

We’ll keep you posted if any new developments occur…for now it seems that Jones-Drew will be ready to roll in Week 1 after all. Draft him with confidence if you have the chance.

No worries on Jones-Drew. This is a classic case of someone just being held out in case, then slipping down the draft board and great value being had. Don’t let a couple nicks and bruises steer you away at this point!
