I’m in a 12 team non ppr strandard scoring (4 pt pass td)league were we keep 2 keepers from last year losing the round we drafted them in. Our keepers are already in and our draft is Sunday w/ me having the 3rd pick. The top talent left AP, Gore, SJax, Andre Johnson , Brady, Brees Manning…the guy with the first pick keep Charles and Crabtree and is a huge Colts fan which leaves me to beleive he might take manning, the guy w/ the 2nd pick kept SGreene and RRice and pretty much told me he is going to take the Top QB whoever he thinks that is so it come to my 3rd pick and I already have RWhite in the 5th and Forte in the 8th so my question is an I crazy to take AJ over Gore and SJax or do I dare even say AP? I have a man crush on AJ and feel I’ve been burnt in this league many times for having poor WR production? Also feel I can still grab quality RB help in the 2nd 3rd and 4th, What’s your guys thoughts?

You already have roddy white. Im not sure if you mean AP is available.  If so yeah youd be crazy not to grab him. Otherwise grab gore. Or you could grab AJ and trade one of your WR for a running back.

If Adrian Peterson is there, you have to take him first and foremost..

.But of the others, I think Gore is the way to go. I love Andre too but go and check the 49ers schedule this year. They get it pretty easy, and being that the 49ers had issues last year at QB and with Crabtree and Gore STILL finished as the 6th best running back I think you have to take him. I think the chance of passing up 1 of the few RB’s left that are a teams only option is not something you want to do.

Dont take Andre over Gore or All Day. That would be crazy. Matt Forte’s production is going to drop significantly under Mike Martz. Martz uses QBs and WRs very well but does not use RBs and TEs well. You’re going to need a solid running back.

Thanks guys I went with your advice and went with Gore over AJ as it went AP then Brees then I selected Gore, I was happy that I was able to land Brandon Marshal in the 2nd. Here’s the rest of my team. what do u think?

QB- Eli Manning, Chad Henne
RB- Frank Gore, Pierre Thomas, Matt Forte, Cadillac Williams, L. Marouny
WR- R.White, B. Marshal,M. Floyd, B.Berrian, L. Robinson
TE- D. Clarke
K- who cares
D- Dallas

I wasn’t able to land a top QB and feel that it is my only weakness and now looking to make a trade for one. Any other suggestions or ideas? Thanks

I would stay where you are…you have such good depth at both RB/WR as they are all the #1 option on their teams other than Maroney…Clark is amazing but don’t not care bout the kicker…check the waiver wire for David Buehler (Rookie kicking in Dallas)...he’ll get a lot of oppurtunities. Hang with Eli, although he won’t get you many huge games, he is very efficient and will always get you a decent score. Henne has sleeper potential too…I’d stay where you are and wait for a another team to need a RB and WR and then package up someone for their QB later on. You have so much scoring potential with in the meat of your team (RB/WR/TE) that all you need is stability at the QB which Eli more than satisfies.

Great Draft!

I agree with James. You will never get fair value by trading for a QB. Eli will be good enough to win you games, which is all that matters!
