I’m iffy on Royal but he can come into his own this year. I chose Gaffney though
D Thomas was suppose to be this year’s version of Michael Crabtree, a rookie WR who becomes the stud WR to-be on his team (in Denver). Too bad. It will inevitably be Jabar Gaffney (ahh) and Royal is the Wes Welker-lite.
Mike Williams (TB) is this years Crabtree. (Cross fingers)
Thomas looks to be having all sorts of injury issues with his foot so I can’t endorse him. Gaffney is a solid Wr but I think Orton will look more often for a reliable playmaker and in Eddie Royal he has one. Royal will work hard on routes and give that extra 10% in the big situations. He was setup to have a great year last year but all of a sudden the team decided not to use him. Plus, Gaffney will likely draw most of the good coverage.
P.S. MTrain, in what league was Crabtree considered a stud WR? He finished the season at 37th ranked WR in points per game in PPR. In Standard he didn’t even break the top 50. If a guy holds out half of his rookie season then plays average, I don’t think he qualifies as a stud WR. If you want to talk about a recent rookie stud WR, your best bet is probably Marques Colston who had 221 fantasy points in PPR formats his rookie season (2006) good enough for 12th overall in average fantasy points per game (despite playing only 14 games. Fun fact: during his rookie season on yahoo Colston was elgible at the Tight End position as well as WR! The Best rookie WR performance since then oddly enough was had by Eddie Royal who had 91 receptions for 980 yards and 5 TDs in 2008. That nets him 230 fantasy points in PPR formats and puts him as the 16th overall Wr. For reference, Crabtree had only 122 fantasy points last year and even in average points per game barely qualified as a WR3. Even if he does lead his own team this year, he’ll need a LOT of improvement before qualifying as a fantasy stud.

I commented above that crabtree became a stud WR on his own team, the lead dog for the team WR corp. Josh Morgan and other Niner receivers didn’t have a chance.
Who will be the main man in Chicago? Knox, or Aromashadu? (I know it won’t be Hester).

I have a feeling Chicago wins the Vincent Jackson sweepstakes but as is I lke Knox better….
I remember that year squish…if you played in a yahoo league Colsten was listed as both a WR and TE…I added him and was able to have him in my TE slot! So many fans were bent about that…

Wow, that’s some inside information! VJax going to Chicago? I feel like an wall street stockbroker getting me some insider trading. I will keep this in the vest.
I have heard Knox is Cutler’s main squeeze in training camp, but Aromashadu is the better built receiver with more speed, and when all is said and done, may have more fantasy points.
But it’s all speculation from me. If you can hear better, let me know more. I’m in keeper, and looking for young gems are always my meal ticket.
I think Aromashodu deserves to be Chicago’s Wr1 but I’m almost positive he’ll end up as the WR3. As Far as I know , Hester is the definite week 1 WR1 after having led the team in receptions and yards by a large margin last year with Bennett being the closest contender. Over the last year, Hester has become a much better WR and Martz has already taken a liking to him. Knox could challenge Hester but as far as I know, it’s Hester’s job to lose and the latest depth charts support that.
