Okay, it is time for a good, old fashioned, No fakers, shit talking, keeper league.
I tend to lean towards PPR Leagues with 2 QBs, but I am open to suggestions.
I lean towards penalties for keeping players (Losing draft picks, etc.), but I am open to suggestions.
1st, the important stuff and these are my thoughts only, not necessarily how it is going down.
EDIT: I am going to cut out the money for year 1 just to build interest in the league and maybe one day some of you will put your wallets where your Sh*t talker is.

Nice idea Hire hire brad. I have heard some buzz about a keeper league starting up in the Forums and I am glad you are getting things started. I will stay out of the planning picture completely; however, if you need any assistance let me know. Hopefully this league creates a nice foundation and lasts a long time… and if the draft is in Las Vegas next year I will be there!

Hirebrad… the league sounds like a great idea but I think you might be right regarding the money scaring people away. Perhaps lower the entry fee and see if people will join?

I am interested in playing in this league, but will be a little difficult to schedule around because of an upcoming wedding. Get back on Aug 21, so if the draft is after that then I can be in. Also have 2 other drafts already scheduled to work around. Keep my posted, Playa Slaya has my email. I doubt I’d be able to do Vegas though. That sounds awesome, though. Maybe as a 5th year sorta thing.
From all the things that I hear the invested money is what keeps owners coming back year after year. If there is no money involved an owner with a bad squad may have no interest in returning or even completing the season. Either way I am in! How many years have we all played together now(in the same league), but whatever!
So far it looks like we have 5 people. I guess we should start figuring out some more of the details for the league though.

I liked 2 QBs because it forces people to look a little deeper in their rosters. I would say a Snake draft, only because that is the “norm” around here. I would hope the $100 is feasible. I have no problem saying $50 towards this year and $50 towards next year. I am open to ESPN.com or yahoo.com for a site, I see benefits to both and both have good draft sites now.
If we use Espn, we can do it auction style! That would be great as no one will have to worry about draft order, especially if we are doing it for cash! Just a thought!
I am not opposed to an auction, but we need to get a few more guys or this will be tough to pull off. Thoughts? Right now we have six, counting Bill’s friend. We have to get to 10 and then we can do an expansion draft if necessary.
Invites have been sent out to 6 others. ESPN, Keeper League, Auction Style draft. PPR League. I added a second QB, just to mix things up a little and make you work a little for your cheat sheets. If anyone else wants in (5 more is ideal), the draft is set for September 8th at 9:00pm. Plenty of time to scrape together a few bucks.
Once we established the league, i was going to poll the league. I am a fan of tiers (Bought for $1-8 can keep for 8, 8 to $15 can keep for $15, etc.) I was thinking keep 3 max, but with penalties, that sometimes makes it moot.
Glad to see this league shaping up and there already being seven owners committed… Your proposed idea about how to carry over keepers is similar to what I have done in the past in Auction leagues and I think that is fair enough…
