Let the smack talking begin between Bruno Boys Matt, who is a Brewers fan, and the gang of Giants fans that are Bruno Boys staff members…
Some of these threads are brought over from another part of the website, but I wanted to make sure to get them all in one place.\
Here is the comment from Bruno Boys Matt that started all of the Giants / Brewers smack talk…
In his analysis of Round 2, Bruno Boys Whooley hit the nail on the head. And by “on the head,” I mean as intelligent as one could expect a Niners and Giants fan to be
I don’t like this Niners and Giants bashing from Bruno Boys Matt…
That’s right Bruno Boys Matt.... stop with the 49ers and Giants bashing. It’s not just Whooley and I that you have to deal with, Bruno Boys Jacob and Bruno Boys JImbo are Giants and 49ers fans.
So you have two options pal… end it or feel the wrath of four die-hard Bay Area Sports fans!

Real classy move by the Giants today…throwing at Prince in March. That’s something I’d expect to see the Cubs or Cardinals do, not a once proud franchise like the Giants.
Thankfully, it was only Zito (he of the $126 million contract and 86 MPH fastball) pitching so the pitch probably inflicted the same amount of pain as an 8 year old girl would have.

How did I know this comment was coming from you. That’s what Prince Fielder gets for planning a damn bowling ball home run celebration; however, I agree with you that Zito’s bean ball didn’t faze the overweight Fielder.
I don’t think the bad blood between these two teams is over yet and if I remember right they play each other in three different series’ in 2010.
On a final note, kind of funny when your $126 million dollar pitcher is playing “enforcer.” Shouldn’t one of the Minor League fill ins be doing the dirty work?
It actually was a classy move, to be frank. We got our revenge in a game where putting a runner on base doesn’t mean anything. However, I would prefer to see Brian Wilson or Dan Runzler throw a 100 mph fastball at Fielder’s back rather than a Zito “fast"ball.
I mean, I throw harder than that and Cavigs can attest.
Probably because you served it up as well as most of the Giants pitching staff does!
You guys better be nice to Prince. San Fran is constantly listed as a destination for him when he hits free agency. If that happens and he starts splashing balls in McCovey Cove, I’m sure you won’t be using the word overweight to describe him while he carries your team on his back.
And for the record, yes, I am taking Prince in the final round of my IDP drafts this season in the oft chance he switches sports and becomes a defensive lineman.

I’m talking about this year. You’ve got Lincecum, Cain, and nobody…
Matt… I wouldn’t say it’s Lincecum, Cain and nobody else….
Sanchez was electric towards the end of last year, Zito had a great second half of the season and their youngster Madison Bumgarner is one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball. Plus, Brian Wilson and Jeremy Affeldt are two of the best relievers in all of baseball.
Think what you want about the Giants pitching staff Kamke, but my money is on them that they will be a top 5 staff in the NL in 2010.

Even if that is “all we have,” who is on your pitching staff? ...Your starting 5 is: Gallardo, Wolf, Bush, Manny Parra and Jeff Suppan. (And yes, other than Gallardo I had to check your roster page because your BIG signing was Randy Wolf who is constantly injured and finally got healthy in a walk year). Good luck with that. The only thing I can say is you’re lucky that the NL Central might be the weakest division in the Majors this year.
You’re talking that the Brewers get to play the Astros, Pirates and Reds 57 times this season, talk about an easy schedule.

You forgot about Doug Davis and only 2 of Bush, Parra, Suppan, and Narveson will make the rotation.
The Reds and Astros will be better than you think this year. Pittsburgh is hopeless. That schedule also has us playing the Cardinals and Cubs on a fairly regular basis, two teams far better than anything the NL West has to offer.

How could I forget Doug Davis, alma mater of mine and Bruno Boy Cavigs’ Junior College baseball team.
I am more than willing to bet that the Reds and Astros are not going to be better than I think. The Cardinals could definitely be better than any of the NL West, but are you that big of a hater on the NL West? My guess is 3 teams are over the 88 win plateau and the Diamondbacks won’t trail by that much more.

CCSF Rams in the house Bruno Boys Jacob. Since Doug Davis went to the same school of two Bruno Boys I will give him the benefit of the doubt Bruno Boys Matt. Plus, Davis is a lefty and I’m biased towards all left handed people. In all reality, Davis should be a serviceable No.4 or No.5 starter in Milwaukee. He will give you 5-6 innings of 6-8 hits, 4-5 runs and keep you in ballgames. However, if he really wants to be better than that, he will have to cut down on his walks and start forcing more dead contact. He has given up over a hit per innings in each of his last four seasons and tends to serve up the gopher ball.
Yes, Doug Davis is exactly that, a serviceable #4 or #5 starter. Nothing wrong with a player like that.
But the Giants start with a rotation of Lincecum, Cain, Zito, Sanchez, and Bumgarner/Wellemeyer and 3 of those 6 have the capability of being an ace any given 5th day.
Jacob takes a shot at the Reds and I wish I could defend them, but I can’t. They suck. Dusty sucks, there is no hope until he leaves.
And in terms of this discussion, I think the Giants are way better than the Brewers and will prove it this season. Not taking sides, just my opinion. And if I had to choose a favorite player from one of these teams it would definitely be Prince Fielder.

Cory… at least the Reds have Ardolis Chapman and his 100 MPH fastball. That’s one thing to have hope about, and Joey Votto and Jay Bruce are young and talented too. However, I agree that Dusty sucks. I wasn’t a big fan of him when he was the Giants manager.

Cory, don’t hate me. Volquez is down for the year. He was your best shot at a #1 starter (although Chapman looked like the real deal). Your offense has upside but is unknown. Votto is a stud and will prove it this year, Bruce will definitely be better (30 jacks and 95 RBI), and Stubbs has some high praise going on for him as well. If Harang and Arroyo can hang around and be competitive, this team could be okay, but won’t keep up with the offense of the Cards, Brewers and Cubs.
(And Cory, by saying the Giants are way better is taking a side, haha)
Even after that bowling ball/pin incident, I’m still a big Prince fan (why he was not the bowling ball in the skit, I don’t know), but Lincecum and Sandoval have moved to the top of many baseball fans’ favorites. While I would take Prince in a fight with almost anyone, he is only 2 for 10 with 5 strikeouts against the Freak.

Haha no hate here, Jacob. The Reds do have some good young players and if Chapman turns out like some think he can then Cincy has the potential to make it back to the playoffs. I think the Reds are a few years away being there though, and that’s why I’m perplexed by them not cutting ties with Dusty. Dusty’s a player’s manager and likes his veterans, which is the complete opposite type of manager Cincy needs.
I completely agree Cory. Baker and Alou were the reason that the Giants young players never really got a shot. Bochy is the complete opposite and gives his young guys plenty of chances, but his inability to keep a steady lineup together is frustrating. After watching teams that don’t mess around with their lineups be successful (Yankees, Phillies for two), it’s hard to watch 162 different lineups a year…
