Will get Round 8-10 posted soon. I was caught up in all the comments from Bruno Boys Matt about the Giants pitching staff having two solid pitchers and nothing else!  Back to football we go…

So through 10 rounds just about every team has starters in place at QB, RB, WR and TE and I was wondering what everyone things about their team?

Also through 10 rounds who do you feel has the best team?

I’m pretty happy with my team…and I would rank myself in the top half without a doubt. There is a lot of balance through the league and I don’t know if anyone’s team truly stands out above the rest. This is just a cursory glance at it from my perspective, I will do some rankings after the draft is complete.

what happened to this thread…[[ starting thread cpr app sequence ]]

Teams are shaping up, interesting to read the reasoning in the per round articles.
Some picks too early for my liking but they may translate to some nice late round scores for ppl.

As for favorite rosters thru 10 rounds…ignoring where players were taken horizontally and vertically…
with the exception of undrafted rookies in the single digit rounds [ we don’t even know who they play for, power up laser, bzzt - bzzt, toast, two less rosters for me to consider, bwuahahaha ]
Most of these rosters are shaping up pretty well from my perspective.
In choosing a few rosters thru 10 rounds:
**I like the 2 slot (Larry), still needs a TE, and they’re getting slimmer pickings now, but if your going to take a hit, or a gamble late, thats as good a position as any to do it.
**I want to like the 11 slot (Greg), but I don’t understand why ppl (he’s not alone) are taking Welker so early, maybe because it is so early (march).  He had his knee surgery, and since he was there decided to fix his shoulder too, so he’s rehabbing his knee and shoulder, and was hurt late, week 17.  I’d be surprised if he was back before bye weeks were over, and I won’t be surprised if its later than that.  Time will tell I guess as we get more information, it just seems early to take such a gamble on a guy who, even if he makes the field, will not be 100 percent.
**The 12 slot (Cavigs), shaping up, I’m not thrilled with your RB situation, but its not bad it’s just my own perferences, and you are in the 12 hole.  I’m liking the rest of the roster thru rd 10.
**Now I have to back up to the 10 slot (IDP Guru), I gave him some grief earlier in this thread, on purpose and in fun mind you but grief just the same, about taking a QB in the first round.  I still don’t like the idea, however, in looking at this years board for the past few weeks, and seeing my perception of the players available in rounds 2, 3, and even 4, I’m going to give him kudos.  I’ve mocked it several times, and I like the strategy in the late slots.  At this point in March, I don’t have a lot of difference between the players in the late 1st/early 2nd, and if it falls right for you, even the late 3rd, so why not guarantee yourself your QB choice, and then go from there. This is a qb league now, they are the big point getters, wr love everywhere with all the rbbc going on. I may not take the same players he did and I’m not saying its “the” way to go, I’m just saying I think its a viable alternative to go QB early in the late slots this year.

Now on to the late rounds, the darts in the dark, the sleepers, and the steals.  Good luck.

Round 8 Best Value- Justin Forsett if SEA uses him, Braylon Edwards if not
Biggest Reach- Clinton Portis or Jahvid Best…just because i think Portis is on a decline and we don’t know if best will do good or not
Round 9 Best Value- Reggie Bush or Aromashodu
        Biggest Reach- TO
Round 10 Best Value- Foster if they use him, Shiancoe if not
Biggest Reach- I don’t even know who Ryan Matthews is so I’m going to say him

This was interesting.  I’m one of those chuckleheads that likes to look at completed drafts and see how things shook out.  In this format, with the articles giving their reasoning for selections was interesting, early, but interesting.  Thanks for doing it.

Value Picks:  Watching it unfold you could see there were going to be some good picks to be had late, and there were several.  I had three that jumped out at me the most.  Hightower in the 13th, as his rb5, I think that one could pay dividends.  Not sucking up, but Edelman in the 13th, he’s going to get a pile of Welkers targets, not to mention if he continues to get returns, I think is a steal, and Cribbs in the 16th, he got better as the year went on, he’s on the field in many capacities, and both of these guys were had as wr6’s.  If I had to pick one, I’d say Edelman, because of his team and qb, and because if return stats are not included in your league then Cribbs slides down.

Reaches: I don’t know if I’d classify anyone as such this late, but if I had to pick one I might go with Choice in the 11th. He’s still the rb3 on his own team and until that changes I think there are better choices for my rb4 on the board. (no pun intended) If he were taken as a handcuff, like BScott in the 14th, that would make it a little different, but at this point I feel he could still be had later.  Another that stands out for me, and I see this as purely a flier, but interesting pick just the same, is BTate in the 14th.  He hasn’t shown he can stay on the nfl field let alone play on it, but considering his potential and NE’s wr situation at this point, this could turn out to be a great pick.  High risk/high reward, a true flier, bravo.

Nice job mockers.
