Playa Slaya - 15 January 2010 06:00 PM
Well I even if the defeat the Ravens they wont get by my JETS. And yes they(the Jets) will still be there!
Playa Slaya - I like the confidence you have in the Jets this weekend. Like you, I think they can go into San Diego and beat the Chargers. It will take and exceptional effort on both sides of the football but it can be done. In my opinion, if New York’s defense can contain Philip Rivers and force San Diego’s bottom feeding run offense to beat them they will win the game. It won’t be the most entertaining game of the weekend but it should be close for 60 minutes and tha is all you can ask for in the playoffs.
Here are my predictions for the four games this weekend.
Arizona Cardinals - 34
New Orleans Saints - 31
This will be the most entertaining game of the weekend but in the end the experience of Kurt Warner and the postseason confidence of the Cardinals prevail. Look for the QBs to combine for 650 yards and 5-7 TDs in this game.
Baltimore Ravens - 17
Indianapolis Colts - 27
Like Cory said, the Colts have struggled after the bye in years past but they get over the hump in 2010. With the Ravens expected to run often and control the clock this game will be close throughout. However, the Ravens defensive backs will have trouble defending the Colts passing attack. Baltimore keeps it close for 50 minutes and the Colts dominate in the fourth quarter (like we see so often from a Manning led team).
Dallas Cowboys - 20
Minnesota Vikings - 27
This is going to be a great game. A month ago I would have said Dallas ha no shot at beating the Vikings in the Metro Dome. Things have changed and the Cowboys defense has been top notch but expect Minnesota to use a balanced attack of pass / run plays to keep the Cowboys guessing and ultimately deliver the knock out punch late in the game. The magical season continues for Brett Favre as he approaches 300 passing yards and at least two touchdown passes.
New York Jets - 20
San Diego Chargers - 17
And Playa Slaya clutches his fist after reading this prediction. Both teams are riding a high and San Diego hasn’t lost since mid-October but in my opinion the Jets have that “spark” right now that prevails in the postseason. Plus, I don’t like the fact that the Chargers skill players haven’t saw much action since Christmas Day. Look for both defenses to play well but for the Jets to do just enough to force San Diego to rely on the run. This will allow them to keep the game close, take advantage of their game-plan (run the football) and pull off the upset in sunny San Diego.
Best of Luck to all in the Bruno Boys Playoff Challenge and if your favorite team is in the playoffs best of luck to them as well (unless you’re a Cowboys fan).
