Baltimore Jeff - 11 January 2010 07:28 AM

I am the Rounders and in second place.  Just signed up for the site, but I have loved your insight all year long as it helped me to be in championships in three leagues, winning 2 of them.

Good luck to everyone through the next three rounds.

Baltimore Jeff

GO RAVENS!!!!!!!!!!

congrats on winning two of your three leagues Jeff, and we’re glad to have you on the site. also congrats on being second after the wildcard round but next week’s divisional round is going to be huge.

Sitting in a tie for 69th, my weekend was done in by selecting Sammy Morris for one of the RB slots and taking the Bengals D/ST. What the heck was I thinking?

Does anyone have any idea when ESPN will allow editing of the roster for the Divisional Round?

This is my first time playing in the challenge and while I couldn’t find any specfic statement on the site that states exactly when we’ll be able to create/modify our rosters for the Divisional Playoffs…one of the “answers” in the “FAQ” section indicates that “Current Market Values” are updated each Tuesday morning with the first update coming after Wildcard Weekend…therefore it seems logical to conclude that we’ll be able to select new rosters as soon as the salary adjustments are made…probably sometime today.

Yeah if you notice too, it says on the Wildcard week page Jan. 9-11 so I assume sometime today we will be able to pick for our Divisional round sometime today.

THE FLOCK is my screen name in the challenge. Could have done much better this weekend. I guess I’ll be playing catch-up.
Witten, Grant and Mason were all duds this week.

I’m still very happy grin since my Baltimore Ravens went into Foxborough and punched the PATS straight in the mouth officially ending their dynasty. I loved every minute of that game and I like our chances against INDY this week as we only lost by 2 in week 11 and could have actually won if FLACCO doesn’t throw a late pick. Indy sitting and resting may bite them in this one. If they come out and don’t match the intensity of the RAVENS they will get sent home like the PATS. I expect Manning to put on his sour face for most of this one when he and his WR’s are not clicking on all cylinders. Can’t wait to watch.

Divisional picks are up now by the way. I only scored 94 total last week. I had a lot of duds. Witten, Gostkowski, Driver and NE Defense especially. Jones was a bit of a bust as well losing carries to Greene, but at least he hit the end zone. Aaron Rodgers was a bit of a saving grace though with 39 points. Good luck this week all.

I’m such a nerd. I just spent 30 minutes picking my quarterbacks. Hopefully it doesn’t take as long to pick the rest of my team.

The Flock,

Love the Avatar. Did you make that yourself? Hopefully it brings Baltimore some luck this weekend. Should be a great game on Saturday Night. One that I will be watching from start to finish. You talk about intensity being matched on the Colts end and I don’t see that being a problem. Indianapolis will be fired up and ready to roll. I don’t see Manning having any trouble picking apart the Ravens secondary and feel the only way Baltimore wins this game is if they are able to control the clock with the running game and force a few Indy turnovers.  It will be a close one, likely determined by a TD or less, but in the end the efficiency on offense and the arm of Manning will send the Ravens packing.

Sorry The Flock and I wish Baltimore the best of luck in the Divisional Round.

Yeah I think its a slim chance for the Ravens to win. I think if they were smart, they would rely on Rice again to pound that ball in there. Flacco isn’t looking real great right now. They can’t afford a single turnover in my mind.

Black Tetra - 15 January 2010 02:45 PM

Colts 41   Ravens 13

Bold Statement Black Tetra. Is someone speaking from their heart?  II do feel Indy wins this game and covers the spread but feel it takes a late touchdown to do so. I’m thinking more of Colts 27 - Ravens 17.

In my opinion, the only way the Colts score 41 points is if they get a defensive touchdown or two.  Baltimore will probably run the football 75 percent of the time (until they are forced to pass) and this will lead to Indy not getting enough possessions to score 41 points.  The last time these two teams played Baltimore controlled the time of possession and ran about 12-15 more plays than the Colts.  Look for them to take the same game plan into Lucas Oii tomorrow night.

Enjoy the Game and good luck to your Colts.

ROUNDERS on Gridiron Challenge

Since my Ravens played the inconsistent football they played most of the year, I only have 2 more weeks of playoff fantasy before the NFL season is over.  Miraculously, my putrid 96 still has me within 14 of the lead in 6th place.  Thank you Sydney Rice.  No thanks to Warner, Floyd, Kaeding and the Chargers D.  If I was sure about any game it was the Chargers were going to win, but I missed on that one.

Good luck to all in the last 2 rounds.  This weeks picks are crucial.  Do you try and rack up points and mix it up with players that from both teams in the conference, or try and pick the winners and have a full boat on Super Bowl Sunday.  Interesting dilemma.  I could see Minnesota / New Orleans being very high scoring.

Picks are up early this week. Last week you couldn’t make any changes until Tuesday, but it’s up now for the Conference week. Good luck guys with your picks. Lol I think I am already toast though. Ranked 234th in our group and I wonder how many of those behind me didn’t make picks on a particular week? lol. Well it’s still fun anyway.
