As we wind this year down I thought I’d throw out a few ideas for making next year just a little more enjoyable (From my experience, your mileage may differ)

1- Go IDP next year if you all ready arent…yes, it takes a little more time to manage your team…but the fact you are on this message board suggests thats not going to be a problem! Indeed one of the most fun parts of IDP play is the fact that you often will use the waiver wire more for D guys all year than you will the O…we use tackles, tackle assists, int, sacks, pass’s defended and if you are using return yds some DB’s will be gold mines….which brings me to…

#2 Use return yds…its an integral part of football, make it an integral part of your FF game…guys like Sproles and Harvin rocket in value and as already mentioned so do D Backs who return

#3 A lot of people are obviously playing PPR…there’s a reason…catching a football isnt all that easy and should be rewarded…on a side note I play in a league that awards a half a point per carry…taking a handoff doesnt require the same skill set as catching a pass so I’m not really a big fan (but if your league does by all means focus more on guys like Grant who are every down backs if not true studs)

#4 I’m guessing a number of people will wander away from FF sites for the next 5-7 months…if you do, make sure you find your way back here to BB…besides the wisdom offered by the BB staff, this is the only site I know of that has an active message board where questions are answered with some thought behind it…as opposed to “start player X, now help me *link*”

Please feel free to add anything you do that you feel will help in the process of enjoying FF

oh,...

#5 - End your league in week 16…yes, the Colts may screw you again…but its better than having it all on the line in wk 17 when god only knows who may or may not be playing!

I like all your suggestions Black Tetra and I always play in leagues with all you mentioned. IDP’s do make for a much more enjoyable experience and I always have them. Just did not mention them here due to it being a bit much I thought. This is the first year I have played in leagues that went all the way to week 17, and I agree with you there as well. Although I did enjoy seeing everyone scramble to pick through the waiver wire scraps. lol I had already looked ahead 2 weeks before and had my week 17 people sitting on my bench waiting for the game. Oh how I love this game!
