The guy is a beast…whattya think?

I’m lucky enough to have him in both of my keeper leagues this year and he will cost me a 17 and 19 rd pick in the two leagues next year

Lets just say that I am currently looking up his families address to mail them a Merry Christmas card from my family.

If the man is in a NFL fantasy draft, I’ll take him.  If we are playing a pick up game, I’ll pick him.  If he runs for mayor, I’ll vote for him.  J. Charles is a hero.

i don’t think so.  likely will be a top 5 rb but won’t be top 5 overall.  now that people know who he is he’ll need to be playing on a team which has other threats to focus the defensive off solely on him

It would be awesome to have seen what his yardage would have been should the chiefs given him the rock on day 1.  Chris Johnson.WHO?!

Well in my leagues no non-RB’s will be going in the top 5 so that will make him a top5 overall

Like him alot BT. Anyone w/ Charles made out like bandits last year (esp PPR leagues). Its possible Thomas Jones will steal some TDs from him but Charles is looking like a solid #2 RB for 2010.

The man is an all purpose threat -RB, -receiver on passing downs, -return man…......He’s everywhere!!!
If you are in a league that rewards for receptions and return yardage. He should definitely be one of the top 10
More traditional leagues you may see him still on the board in the second round….........great pick-up if he is.

BTW
KC’s 2010 -11 schedule looks favorable for running backs. So if he falls to the 2nd. I’d definitely grab him.

Well since the Chiefs have acquired Thomas Jones and have now drafted Dexter McCluster, how do yall think charles will fare? He’s out of the top 5 RBs to draft obviously unless they come out and say that he will be the starter which i highly doubt is going to happen. Is he even worth drafting at this point?

Big Space… I talked about this in another thread regarding Charles but I will chime in here.  Charles is still worth drafting and should be drafted as a RB2. His 2010 value isn’t as significant as it was back in February; however, he is an exceptional playmaker and will get his hands on the football 15 times per game.  Reports are that the Chiefs will use Dexter McCluster primarily as a wide receiver which is good news for Charles owners.

As we get closer to the 2010 NFL season we will learn more about Charles and continue to report the news.

Let me first say that Charles would have never been a top 5 pick in my eyes! Here is the top 5 that is tough to alter: Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Ray Rice, and either Michael Turner or Frank Gore. There are still other players I’d consider too and therefore, would drop Charles to the 2nd round.

Now with Jones & McCluster there…I’d rank Charles as a bottom of the 2nd round/top of the 3rd round guy! He’s a great player, but there are guys just as talented in better situations above him.

I think J charles will be splitting time with Jones, which hurts his value…I dont think hell get enough carries to be a number 1 RB…JMO!..so good luck

TJ will steal goal line carries…but JC scored from mid-field more often than not

I’m a bit skeptical as well too. I know he’s damn talented but really want to see how this offense works with TJ and McCluster.

I could see a 70 - 30 split with the backfield of JC and TJ. Charles should get the bulk of the work and third down duties. TJ will spell him and proly’ vulture the goal line duties.
One of the sports writers for the Chiefs had said, “Charles is the centerpiece of this offense with his versatillity and play making abilities and they will need to get him involved on the ground and through the air.”

TJ will be 32 this year and has been over worked the past few years, historically he has been a great back, but C’mon he eventually has to run out of gas at some point.
IMO He was brought in to compliment and mentor Charles.
Something Larrry Johnson was never going to do.

There is a lot of good talent at RB this year.  Charles will do good.  You can rank him from 8 to 15 and I wouldn’t object.  After the top 6 RB’s the next 9 could be ranked 7-15.

I wouldn’t mind if he was my RB1.

If you’re pick in top 5, in up to a 14 team draft, you should be able to get him on the snake around. His line is horrible in KC though. I see him as a top 12 RB but not top 5.
