The New England Patriots declared running backs Laurence Maroney and Kevin Faulk inactive for the team’s last regular-season game against the Houston Texas. Maroney and Faulk’s inactivity might be an indication that the Patriots aren’t taking this game as seriously as they indicated all week - although Tom Brady and Randy Moss are both active. Maroney was benched last week for a first-possession fumble, so perhaps this is a carry-over into Week 17. Sammy Morris and Fred Taylor will handle the workload.
