I’m in the championship game this week and I need some advice with the following 2 situations below.
Our league is pretty standard for the most part, 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF. It’s a non-PPR league.
My starting lineup currently looks like…
QB - E Manning, T Romo
RB - S Jackson, B Wells
WR - R Moss, B Marshall, D Jackson
TE - A Gates
K - Shayne Graham
DEF - New Orleans vs TB
I have to start 2 RBs. From the list below, which 2 should I start? ( 1 pt per 10 carries, 6 pts per TD )
- Jonathan Stewart
- Jerome Harrison
- Rashard Mendenhall
- Steven Jackson
- Beanie Wells
I have to start 1 Kicker. From the list below, which 1 should I start?
- Mike Nugent (filling in for Neil Rackers)
- Shayne Graham
- Lawrence Tynes
Thanks a bunch!!!

Matt,
That is one hell of a list of running backs to choose from and I’d like to compliment you to building such a solid squad. Too bad you couldn’t start 3-4 on a weekly basis. Based on your options I’d do the following…
If he plays use Steven Jackson. He’s your workhorse and has been the guy you’ve rolled with through thick and thin. Plus, the Cardinals run defense has allowed 110 or more rushing yards and a TD in five of their last six games. If SJAX plays he will produce.
As for your RB2 I’d stay in the same game and rely on the rookie Beanie Wells. Only five teams allow more points to running backs than the Rams and before stopping a poor Texans run defense they had given up seven rushing TDs and over 700 rushing yards in a five game stretch. Beanie Wells should continue to control the touches in Arizona en route to double-digit fantasy points.
If for some reason you can’t bring yourself to start one of the guys discussed I’d rank the rest of your options like this….
Stewart (if no Williams), Mendenhall, Harrison…. And remember it’s your team and you need to be the final decision maker.
At kicker I’d play either Graham or Tynes. If the weather in Cincy is clear and no rain, or snow is on the field (or supposed to happen) at game-time go with Graham. If not, roll with Tynes. However, make sure to check his weather as well. And, if both kickers have potentially bad weather go ahead and user Nugent.
Best of Luck in Week 16 and let us know what you decide to do.
